Membership & Evangelism

This ministry group (also known as the Ministry of Growth) is responsible for encouraging the congregation’s evangelism ministries and the assimilation of new members. They are also responsible for the congregation’s efforts in publicity, public relations and advertising, as well as overseeing the internal communication work of the church, such as the publication of directories, the newsletter, and the website.

Becoming a Member

One may become a member of the congregation by making a confession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, by giving expression to that confession of faith through baptism, by transfer of membership from another congregation, or if one is baptized but not currently affiliated, one may become a member by making a reaffirmation of their faith and commitment to Christ.

CWCC, as a Disciples church, is non-creedal, and therefore one joins by making the good confession — that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and one’s Lord and Savior (Matthew 16:16). We practice believer’s baptism by immersion, but welcome people baptized in other traditions.
