Islam and Its Place in the Modern World — November Study Series

Central Woodward Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Troy is sponsoring a four week educational series for the community entitled:   “Coexist or a Clash of Civilizations?   Islam and its place in the Modern World.”   The series will be held on Wednesday evenings from 7-8 on November 2, 9, 16, and 30.   Our guest speaker for the series is Mr. Saeed Khan, a member of the faculty at Wayne State University.   The series will focus on four topics:  A basic introduction to Islam, the relationship of Islam to Christianity (and Judaism), the place of Islam in the modern world, and Islam in America.

Our presenter, Mr. Saeed Khan, is Lecturer on Near East and Islamic studies at Wayne State University and Michigan State University. He is a Fellow of the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding and an expert on Pakistan and the Middle East. He has also served as a commentator for the BBC World Service, National Public Radio and Time magazine, as well as many other media outlets, including the Craig Fahle Show.
