What Does It Mean to Be Disciple? — A Study Series

What does it mean to be a member of a Disciples of Christ congregation? Who are the Disciples and what do they stand for? These are the kinds of questions we’ll address in a four session series of monthly conversations led by Pastor Bob Cornwall. These sessions will be held at Central Woodward and are open to all on the second wednesday of each month from October through January.

The first session will be on Wednesday Evening, October 10th. This first conversation will focus on unity. It’s the principle that gives purpose to our Disciples community. It’s also a strong element in Central Woodward’s own history. Remember that Edgar DeWitt Jones served as President of the Federal Council of Churches during the late 1930s. The Federal Council was the predecessor of the National Council of Churches. We’ll meet in the Library (unless we outgrow it) at 7:00 PM.

The next three sessions will take place on the second Wednesday of November, December, and January. Topics will include: The Restoration Principle – Our Biblical heritage (November); The Interpretation Principle – Freedom (December); The Sacramental Principle – the Table and Baptismal Pool (January).
