On Saturday August 17, 2013, Nancy Berry Zimmerman, who with her husband Dick have been long time members of Central Woodward, passed away. A memorial Service for Nancy is to be held on Saturday August 24th at 11 AM, with a lunch following. Burial for Nancy was held on Tuesday, August 20th in Livonia.
Nancy grew up at Central Woodward Christian Church back when the church was located in Detroit. She would later marry Dick at CWCC. Later, when their children Steve and Betsy were growing up the family joined the Livonia church, which was near their home. After the Livonia church closed Nancy and Dick decided to return to CWCC, which was no located in Troy. While here Nancy has served in a number of capacities and has been committed to the life of the church.
Nancy is survived by her husband Dick, her two children Steve (Edie) Zimmerman and Betsy (J.C.) Stadnik, her grand children Courtney, Hannah and Matthew, Nathan and Samantha, and her brother Richard “Dick” (Judi) Berry.
In addition to her long involvement at CWCC, Nancy was a longtime member of the Livonia Garden Club and A.A.U.W. Professionally she taught Home Economics in Dearborn and later was on the counseling staff at Schoolcraft College.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Central Woodward Christian Church in Nancy’s memory. The family has chosen to honor Nancy’s interest in education by asking that the gifts be used for improvements to the education wing of the church.
