Head Start Holiday Box Project

It’s that time again…  Each year several hundred Detroit Public Schools Head Start children’s lives are enriched at holiday time because they receive a box of clothing and a toy from organizations & individuals throughout the greater Detroit Community.

Detroit Public Schools Head Start is a highly successful comprehensive program which offers services to 945 four-year-old children and their families.  The goal of Head Start is to meet a broad range of needs in the lives of low-income families.

The church already has 40 empty boxes to fill.  Please bring items in and put on Outreach table in Fellowship Hall—or if you would like to make a monetary contribution, please put in the offering and indicate “Head Start Holiday Box”.  Contact Gloria Parsons or Diana Payton if you have questions.  Items will be collected thru the end of November.

Each box will include the following items

(we try to provide for sizes 6x & 7):

1 hat & mittens set   1 book or educational toy
1 pair of socks         1 pair slacks (sweatpants ok)
1 set of underwear    1 sweater  (sweatshirt ok)
