On behalf of the Michigan Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), we would like to announce the ordination of Alex McCauslin. The ordination service will take place on August 24, 4:00 pm here at Central Woodward Christian, in Troy, Michigan.
Alex writes of her ordination: “My ordination will take place in the sanctuary and in the midst of the congregation where I first felt ‘a calling’ seventeen years ago on the day of my baptism.”
All clergy are invited to robe and participate in the procession. The preacher for the service will be Alex’s
teaching pastor from her time in Chicago, the Rev. Dr. Lillian Daniel. Alex graduated in June from University of Chicago Divinity School and the Disciples Divinity House. Dr Daniel, senior minister of First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn, IL., is a well known author, professor at seminaries and frequent speaker around the country.
Central Woodward Christian, 3955 W Big Beaver Rd, Troy, will provide a reception afterward with light refreshments.
Alex writes further: “I’m so grateful to everyone who’s supported me in my call and on my journey so far and hope many of you can attend my ritual entry into this new stage of ministry.” Those persons include her husband Luke Allen and her parents Anne and John McCauslin.
All are invited to join us for worship. If you are interested in helping with the gifts of office and support of the service, your gifts can be sent to the church — please mark in the memo line: Alex McCauslin Ordination. In addition to the travel costs of the preachers for the day, we are providing Alex with a chalice and paten as well as a stole as signs of her office. After these costs are finalized, any remaining funds will go to her commentary fund.
